Even though milk is included as the ones that are not recommended to be given to your Pomeranian, it does not mean it is totally harmful. Milk is important for dogs, especially puppies, nursing, and pregnant mothers. In addition to the milk, some other dairy products are as important as milk as part of the diet for calcium. If you have a Pomeranian puppy or the nursing and pregnant Pomeranian dog, it is fine for you to give them milk.

  • Avocado

Avocado is believed to be harmful for small dogs like Pomeranians because they have a substance named persin. The signs of illness from consuming avocado include diarrhea, vomiting, and lack of stool production. The main fear that makes the avocado is not allowed is the possibility of the dog to swallow the whole large and round avocado seed. If they swallow it, it can get stuck in the esophagus, stomach, or intestinal tract of the dog. Besides, the rough green peel can also be dangerous.

  • Chocolate

Chocolate contains theobromine. This one is usually found in the white chocolate. Actually, dark chocolate, chocolate mulch, and unsweetened baking chocolate are the most dangerous ones. A small amount of them can cause the dog to vomit, get diarrhea, and be really thirsty. In the worst cases, it can also cause abnormal heart rhythm, seizures, tremors, and even death.

  • Candy and gum

There might be xylitol in candies and gums. This one can cause an increase in insulin circulating through the body of the Pomeranian. The blood sugar can be dropped by consuming it and it is also possible to cause liver failure. The signs of the illness include lethargy, vomiting, and loss of coordination. These signs of illness might lead to seizures. As for liver failure, it can happen within just a few days.

  • Coffee, tea, and caffeine

Consuming too much caffeine might be fatal for Pomeranians. The sad news is that there is nothing that you can do. The signs of the illness include restlessness, rapid breathing, muscle tremors, fits, heart palpitations, and bleeding. To avoid your Pomeranian from getting these effects, please put the caffeine away from your Pomeranian. Not only coffee, and tea, medicine with caffeine in it is also harmful.

  • Macadamia nuts

Just like the other foods on the list, consuming macadamia nuts might be fatal for your Pomeranian. According to the research, as few as six raw or roasted macadamia nuts can make a dog ill. Pomeranians are small so it will only take two or three of macadamia nuts to make them ill. The signs of the illness include weakness or paralysis of the hindquarters, vomiting, muscle tremors, rapid heart rate, and elevated body temperature.

  • Grapes and raisins

Some people might think that grapes and raisins are good for your Pomeranian while they are actually not. It has been known that both of them can cause kidney failure in dogs and even the small amount of them can make the dogs ill. The symptoms from eating these two include repeated vomiting that leads the dog to be lethargic and depressed.

  • Onions

Onions are a big no. They are totally not allowed even if powdered, raw, cooked, or dehydrated. An onion can destroy the red blood cells of the dog, which leads to anemia.   • Persimmons, peaches, and plums

Apart from the foods on the list, some other foods that are not recommended to be eaten by the Pomeranians are shallots, leeks, chives, currants, cinnamon, rawhide, wild mushrooms, pecans, walnuts, cherries, any food or drink with caffeine, any food with xylitol, leaves and the other parts of bell pepper plant, avocado plant, tomato plant, and eggplant plant, bones, yeast dough, tomato sauce. In addition, the foods with MSG and onions and or garlic are also not recommended and should be away from the Pomeranians.
